Orius and Expanding Views ~ 5 February 2013

Since last week’s last minute blast of a newly named centaur in our solar system, another newly observed object has been documented. Recently filed is a scattered disk object provisionally designated as 2013 BL76. While the location of the perihelion degree is likely unreliable in this early state of data refinement, its node intersects the ecliptic at 0 Libra 12. The current position of this body is now 26 Pisces 47. More follows below.

Formerly minor solar system body 330836 (2009 HW77), now known as Orius, remains a bit of a mythical enigma. While I have scoured the usual sources, there’s just not much written in terms of his lore. The most reliable information is that he was a twin (to Agrius) and both were killed by Hercules in the battle over the sacred wine that took place at the cave of Pholus. So it appears interpretively, we’re left with astrological understanding derived from astronomical data. So let’s review a few astronomical facts.

The inclination 17.9 degrees and its eccentricity being 0.418 are fairly on par with other centaurs. In its orbital trek of 98.97 years, Orius is closest the Sun at 12.45 astronomical units, in between where Saturn and Uranus come closest the Sun. Orius retreats to some 30.34 astronomical units near the nearly round orbital track of Neptune and in the vicinity of where Pluto comes closest the Sun. Some might contend that a body absorbs some qualities of the planets it nears/intersects/crosses during its orbit. In this case, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto would contribute qualities to Orius, which is quite a hodgepodge of planetary influences. I’m not sure how to delineate that combo other than to say that society’s rules, as implied by Saturn, and long-standing dictums are subject to change, revisioning and transformation. But I would also contend that should be a long-standing psychic prescription for society at all times.

Over the years I have used the components of an orbit that can be translated astrologically. In the case of Orius we see his mission statement defined by his heliocentric node at 20 Taurus 25. The priority list and urgent concerns of Orius come to light by where he moves the fastest and turns about the Sun at perihelion - 10 Libra 47. Orius weighs in with a powerful Taurus-Libra theme, drawing heavily on the common denominator of those signs, rulership by Venus.

Orius focuses upon relationship priorities as well as goals and aspirations one might hold regarding success in life. These combined influences may well note that any confusion regarding “trophy” factors in relationships need to be resolved before taking the total commitment plunge. On a personal level, one must be clear that they are who they are based upon inner resources, not the definition of success which favors economic gain and possession of stuff as an indication of worthiness. Definition of a clear distinction between worth and worthiness is an Orius offering toward smooth sailing in both relationship and personal/professional success realms.

Orius now transits 7 Sagittarius 52, aiding everyone in resetting beliefs early enough such that they do not become entrenched concepts immune from review. Truly, one must live in an evidence-based reality. Of course, there is the mundane version of evidence-based reality. And there exists a spiritual/ethereal vision of evidence-based reality. Can these be sorted even if they appear to disagree?

According to the Taurus component of Orius, one’s body instincts offer valid interpretation for real life in present time. There’s nothing like a set of chill bumps to offer a reality check. The Libra part of Orius, largely conceptual within its air sign nature, might be inclined to ponder reality from a data point of view - as in do the facts line up - in contrast to more abstract or conceptual data free zones. Can one integrate clarity of mind and spirit within the agenda to remain totally responsive to one’s sense nature? It would seem Orius seeks to drive a person’s spirit back into the body where instinct and sense merge to build life experiences that feed one’s greatest yearnings. Urges Orius, end the vertigo caused by forcing square mental pegs into round reaction to real world holes. Recreate solidity on both feet by restoring the ultimate balance - the balance of soul within flesh.

Based upon the node and perihelion degree of Orius, following is a small collection of keywords that may apply. Overall, per Orius, we look into relationship matters and the social perceptions of those relationships and through the lens of how those interactions may affect social standing.

Positive - perceptive of demands of society, sense of what people want and think they need, favorably responsive to senses, balanced and fair, clear perceptions of material goals, accurate assessment on internal attributes and tuned into creativity. Clarity on the idea that a relationship does not make you successful, nor does success make you relatable.

Negative - greedy, possessive, directorial in a controlling way, muddled view on materialism and relationship priorities.

Mundane - tuned into collective need, innovative in terms of creativity and technology, able to create things that simplify life, artfully astute, tasteful in ambiance and decor.

Ceremonial - taking time to savor and celebrate great accomplishment, celebratory, inclined to toast and propitiate, honoring the good and inspiring.

Let’s go back to the discovery declaration of 2013 BL76 within a week of official posting of the namesake for Orius. 2013 BL76 saunters around the Sun in a not to be hurried 41,258 year orbit. This discovery pushed out the defined boundary of our solar system just a bit further, demanding that consciousness expand to fit that space. The node of BL76 at virtually the beginning of Libra clearly states, “you are not alone, nor isolated.” Everyone on planet Earth and in this solar system and within the confines of our galaxy share common concerns. No more puffy eyed perception limited to classical influences only. We are now neo-classical, trans-classical and our realities must adapt accordingly. As a result, a higher level of understanding, compassion and long range vision must come forth. Orius reminds us that what we value has a lot to do with what’s going on inside. It’s time to review beliefs as filtered through the sense factory of our being, distilled by the spirit and ensure that mundane efforts are filled with soulful consistency. Recently I became aware of a new ambulance service here in Tucson. A vehicle in a nearby neighborhood was marked “Ambulance, Parayogic” and continuing, “Emergency treatment for chakras.” Just a real world manifestation of how expanded inclusion might apply.

Just think, back in the olden days - you know early in 1992 - it was believed the most-distant body in the solar system orbited the Sun every 248 years. And now, our perception of the solar system’s breadth increased by a factor of 166. Has consciousness kept up in the past 21 years? If not, maybe include the essence of Orius and the other bodies that have broken the centuries old shackles of solar system perception.

More to come soon.
